walk away

How to Let Go

the first time someone rejects you: believe them

don’t make excuses or cling to what once was

the first time you notice you’re way down on the priorities list

don’t hang on, thinking you’ll climb back up

when later turns to never

wnd scoffs become a constant

walk away

when your plans stop lining up

and claims of knowledge start to falter

walk away

they don’t know you, because people change

you don’t know them, because nothing stays the same

stop holding on to a memory that only sort of, kind of was

say thank you to the past

stop living there

walk away

you’ll thank yourself tomorrow
